All flights are operated by Glenorchy Air and their team, based at Queenstown Airport.
Safety is at the heart of every flight we operate, with a comprehensive Safety Management System, highly trained pilots, and a modern, meticulously maintained fleet. From pilot training to aircraft maintenance and passenger briefings, every aspect of our operation is designed to ensure the highest level of safety and professionalism.
We take a proactive approach to aviation safety, consistently meeting and exceeding industry standards and regulatory requirements. Our Safety Management System (SMS) is a living framework designed to identify, assess, and mitigate risks before they arise. Safety is not static — it is constantly evolving — and we actively incorporate the latest advancements in aviation safety into our operations. Our team regularly reviews procedures and fosters a culture of openness, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Our pilots are not only experienced aviators but highly trained safety professionals. Each pilot undergoes regular flight training, emergency procedure drills, and proficiency checks to ensure the highest operational standards. With thousands of combined flight hours operating in New Zealand’s diverse and challenging flying conditions, our pilots have the experience and local knowledge to guide you safely to and from your destination.
A key part of our safety commitment is our aircraft maintenance programme. Our fleet is one of the most modern in New Zealand and is maintained to the highest aviation standards. Every aircraft undergoes rigorous pre-flight inspections and scheduled maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Our aircraft are maintained by the expert engineering team at Performance Aviation in Wanaka, who follow strict maintenance schedules and detailed safety checks to ensure every aircraft operates at peak safety.
Before every flight, passengers receive a comprehensive safety briefing from our team so you are familiar with the onboard safety equipment and emergency procedures. Safety instruction cards are located in each seat pocket and provide important information on safety equipment, exit locations, and emergency procedures. Your attention to these briefings helps us ensure a safe and comfortable experience for everyone on board.
